MC Number: The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is a division of the U.S. DOT. Every commercial driver, private or public, must register with the FMCSA. The goal is to ensure that the highways and roads in the United States are safe for travel by everyone. 2.) Provide your name, your MC number and the name of the carrier in your written request.
3.) Write a check payable to “FMCSA” in the amount of $80 — as of 2011 — and mail your written request and check to:
